Macy’s 10th Annual “Shop For A Cause” charity event on Saturday, Aug. 29, 2015. Macy’s “Shop For A Cause” is a unique, one-day-only shopping event created to support fundraising efforts of local charities like Habitat for Humanity of South Collin County (Habitat-SCC).
We are asking our supporters, friends and families give a minimum gift of $10 to Habitat-SCC for a savings pass valid for 30 percent off all-day on in-store regular, sale and clearance merchandise.
Your gift will support our 2016 Extreme Build for Youth. Extreme Build for Youth is an annual house build with Habitat-SCC where young people across the community from different schools, churches, organizations, faiths, age groups, races, and backgrounds are come together to build safe, affordable homes for deserving low-income families in the community.
Nearly 800 area teens (~60 teens per build day) are provided with an opportunity to learn new skills, participate in rewarding community service, earn service hours, and work as a diverse team to plan, sponsor, and build homes for deserving low-income families. Youth not only construct the house in three months, but they also plan and coordinate the volunteers, lunches, meetings and fundraisers year-round. The next build begins January 2016.
