Your gift this year will be DOUBLED! Gifts made to this year’s Extreme Build for Youth will be matched by the
O’Hara Family and Money Matters with Ken Moraif.
This year we are going to double our efforts and impact by building a duplex. This will be one structure, but 2 individual residences. This will also mean twice the cost, twice total number of volunteers, and twice the number of families impacted with affordable home ownership. Our 2016 project will be Extreme Build for Youth’s 13th and 14th home!
Extreme Build for Youth is an annual house build with Habitat-SCC where young people across the community from different schools, churches, organizations, faiths, age groups, races, and backgrounds are come together to build safe, affordable homes for deserving low-income families.
Nearly 1,000 area teens (~60 teens per build day) are provided with an opportunity to learn new skills, participate in rewarding community service, earn service hours, and work as a diverse team to plan, sponsor, and build homes for deserving low-income families. Youth not only construct the house in three months, but they also plan and coordinate the volunteers, lunches, meetings and fundraisers year-round.
